So, I am in the elevator yesterday with a neighbor, and I press the button to close the door. Suddenly, out of no where. a hand comes and blocks the door from closing and another neighbor gets on. I immediately apologize to him and explain that I really didn’t see him running from around the corner to the elevator and that, if I knew he was there, I would have held the elevator for him. Which was the absolute truth.

He then says that it is alright and that he leans on the button to close the door ALL THE TIME even when he KNOWS that people are coming. And then the other neighbor on the elevator chimes in and says that she too doesn’t hold the elevator and tries to close the door before anyone else can get on, because, as she put it. “Sometimes I just want to be alone on my ride upstairs” …

Who ARE these people?????

You gotta love the honesty of New Yorkers, I guess.
